Many mono bunches are sold every day, predominantly still in virgin fossil based BOPP sleeves. Although an efficient and lightweight means of packaging, annually this does result in large amounts of virgin fossil plastic being brought unto the market.

While Decowraps has created a name for itself by pushing innovation & sustainable options on the more premium bouquet packaging, we also realize that the big quantities of plastic are still in the mono bunches, and potentially large impact can be made by fixing the plastic packaging problem there.

With the new Recycled PP flatback sleeve, Decowraps aims to do just that and bring the floral industry one step closer to a circular economy. By using 90% PCR recycled PP on the printed backside, there is hardly any visible impact on the final look for this sleeve, with the front still being made from virgin BOPP, while still achieving a total of 45% recycled content across the entire sleeve.

With this in between step, we aim to pave the way for the use of full recycled plastic sleeves in the industry, whilst already making a positive impact with the use of recycled plastics!
